The 60/40 Measure Is Amended and Prolonged Until 30 June 2022

In issue 27 of 5 April 2022 of the State Gazette Decree No 40 of 31 March 2022 was promulgated amending Decree No 151 of Council of Ministers of 3 July 2020 determining the conditions and procedures for payment of funds for preservation of the employment after the period of the state of emergency declared by the Decision of the National Assembly of 13 March 2020 and the epidemic emergency situation declared by Decision No 325 and extended by Decision No 378 of the Council of Ministers of 2020. The amendments are as follows:

I. The effect of the measure 60/40 is extended for another four months – from 1 March 2022 until 30 June 2022, including. According to the statements of government this shall be the last extension of the measure.

II. Employers applying for funds under the measure should have no liabilities for taxes and compulsory social security contributions to the state for the period before 1 January 2021, and not as before – for the period until 1 January 2020.

The amendments introduced by Decree No 40 of 31 March 2022 shall enter into force on 1 March 2022, but funds for preservation of employment for the period from 1 March 2022 to 30 June 2022 shall be paid after the receipt of a positive decision from the European Commission on the compatibility of the aid with the internal market.

Applications for the payment of funds for preservation of employment for the period March-April 2022 shall be submitted by the end of the month following the month for which it is applied for and by 10 June for the months of May and June 2022. It is important to be noted that compensations for the month of June 2022 shall be paid on the basis of the reported decline in earnings in the month of May 2022.
